Global warming? Not 14,000 years ago, when many parts of North America were covered in a massive ice sheet! In this program, students explore the world of the ice age and examine the evidence of that remarkable past. Students perform hands-on activities using rock kits and maps of sediments and landforms; while fossils from our collections, including those of mammoths, mastodons, giant beavers and plants, demonstrate how life returned after the ice receded.
